it seems as though my previous post hit the wrong chord with a lot of people. the blog was not intended to be rude or arrogant, but it apparently came off that way. i suppose there are a few things i should clear up?
the conversation i had between my friend and i was simply that: a conversation. i will not apologize for my beliefs and for stating those beliefs. what people need to understand is that a conversation between two friends can be heated and still come out with the same amount of respect for each other. it also seems that people don't think one can be a Christian and have intellect and logical reasoning. quite the contrary - i have met many Christians who believe in Christ, the resurrection, heaven and hell, and have gone on to receive doctor's degrees in law, the medical field, MBA's, etc. the definition for Christian is not synonymous with unintelligent. vice versa, it would be unfair for me to state that atheists make poor decisions because they don't believe in Christ. it is definitely a double standard that lacks complete respect for the other side. for people to come on revelife and throw names and cuss words is disrespectful. just because you don't believe in the things written on this website does not justify the lack of respect that people show for the writers.
honestly, i understand that people don't agree with an arrogant attitude. i don't agree with arrogance, but people don't realize that it is not about being arrogant. if i am simply stating my belief and you don't believe in it, then let it be. there are so many things that atheists have said to me that i let be because i don't believe in it and they do.
it is what it is and if we can't respectfully disagree with each other, we should just not say anything at all.
i am blessed to have the opportunity to write for revelife and i enjoy reading others' perspectives. the things that i write are based on events that happen in my life. God put people in my life as a blessing, regardless of whether or not they believe in Him. it's not my job to convert people. i live my life as best i can to serve God and sometimes it doesn't please others. unfortunately, Christ already told us that it wouldn't be an easy road and not everyone would agree with us. i'm okay with that because i know that this world is not the place for me and God has laid a path for me.
let revelife be a blessing to you and not a place that angers you.
